Byte Footage is a festival that explores the artistic appropriation and use of images, sounds, and materials that are part of the infinite internet archive. The festival explores how those digital materials, often created in other latitudes, are used in Latin American art.
Images and archives are constantly extracted from their original context to be reinterpreted, appropriated, and resignified. Byte Footage invites artists, theorists, and activists to think about the possibilities and the various uses of these materials.
Year after year, mainly in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Byte Footage takes different forms: festivals, workshops, talks, and exhibitions.
